[Back in Violet again.
The sun is just beginning to set, casting an orange glow over the city, and the streets are relatively empty. Rima's sat by the lake, leaned against one of the trees right outside Violet Gym. She's just starring off into space at the moment while nibbling on a cupcake and occasionally feeding pieces to the Spheal happily rolling around next to her]
[ V I D E O ]
[It's been a while since she's addressed the network, and as usual, she doesn't have much that much to say]
I've decided it will be useful to teach my Pokemon how to fly.
[She doesn't sound too enthusiastic about it though. It's only really because having Fly will probably save her a lot of time and effort in the long term. Even though getting it looks like it'll be a huge pain]
Anything in particular I should keep in mind before running off to challenge a gym leader?

[video] wow name fail, sorry.
From what I hear, the gym leaders are supposed to be pretty tough... But I don't know much else than that, sorry.
Aren't you looking forward to flying, though?
[video] haha XD no worries XD
Not really. It just sounds easier than having to walk everywhere.
[But how could you not be excited about flying?]
It's...lots of fun, too. You know, in addition to being convenient.
You've flown before then?
Mhmn--but not in Johto. Back home.

He notices Rima as he exits and starts to head back down towards the ruins. Well -- those can wait. She looks familiar from his first post to the network and, heh, she'll get a smile once he's close enough to get a good look at her.]
Um... Rima, right? Hi.
[action]
Hey...
[Ah, the one who was being followed by a random Pokemon a few weeks ago. And also the reason she decided to let that Gastly out of the PC]
Luca.
[He manages to catch Spheal's interest too, not that its particularly difficult to do so, and she's just going to sit there blinking curiously at him for the time being]
[action]
Did you come here to challenge the gym?
[He'd do that himself if the Pokémon didn't look incredibly strong and his team wasn't so... not-strong.]
[action]
[And that's the only reason she's doing this...]
What about you?
[action]
[And the Pokémon are pretty good to train on.]

[video] PRETEND THIS WAS EARLY
That's pretty cool, Gothita! [Nope. Never gonna remember her name at this point. But hey! Nickname: goth + lolita = gothita; lolitha; gothloli; loligoth; etc. Anyway, he's caught on to the second part of her statement. It makes him pause for a moment - a good long pause where he's grinning from ear to ear.]
You're coming here, to Violet, to challenge that Faulkner? Let's battle before you go off to that guy!
[video] 1/2
I have a name s-
[And then she notices the various marks on the visible parts of his skin and her default indifferent expression shifts to one of mild concern]
[video] 2/2
Are his Pokemon really benefiting from this at all?]
I arrived in Violet a few days ago...
...how's "training"?
[Deliberately not going to respond to the part about battling. To be quite honest, dragging him to the Pokemon Centre sounds far to troublesome - she might not look or act it, but Spheal is pretty strong]
["Out there". In Dark Cave. Training. He is certain that everything is a-okay.
And yes, his pokemon are totally benefiting.
Yep.
Nope.]
Training isn't going as well as I thought it would. Poochy -- [POOCHY HATES HIM. HE'S SURE OF THIS NOW. SHE KEPT LAUGHING AT HIM.] -- Blue wants me to stop and Birdie seems to really learn a lot by watching. He's already a pro with his gust attack! [IT HURT. A LOT.] But I don't think Quil gets it.
[Rin just couldn't get Quil to understand that he was okay... Right behind Rin, Rima might notice a certain nurse walking towards him. Nurse Joy had been trying hard not to fret over him but she' seen him one too many times already. And that's just in the past few hours.]
So how about that battle? I think we've [we've] gotten better at battling.
Definitely doesn't want to be the one who has to drag him to the Pokecentre]
Maybe they'd improve faster if you just let them fight for themselves.
[Just maybe. After all, that's how pretty much every other person does it here. Probably because it works]
And most of them enjoy battling anyway.
SPHEAALLL!!!
[That would be her Pokemon deciding to roll over and stick it's head curiously in front of the 'gear and spheal in agreement before her trainer picks her up and moves her out of the way. A common scene.
The last statement just receives a blank look. Because seriously Rin? It seems like you're the one benefiting the most from this...if you can call this benefiting...]
I thought training wasn't going as well as you hoped? [Still...] But I guess it couldn't hurt to battle at some point... [As long as he doesn't plan to do the battling himself. In that case it would hurt. A lot]
[That is just about one of the fluffiest, roundest, squishiest pokemon he's seen so far.] Your pokemon looks like a giant plush toy. [Compliments. He has them.]
The training's not what I expected, but they are learning a lot. I was hoping that I would be able to keep up with them. Most of the time they've had to save me or hold back on their attacks.
[He laughs about it now but his heart isn't in it. If only he could match them blow for blow, like he could before. Even before his upgrade he would have been able to do that much. Being truly human makes him feel just a little incapable.]
...Wanna battle after I get fixed up? I'll only use Birdie and Quil - Pidgeotto and Cyndaquil - if that's cool with you. Poochy's a drama queen and Blue's a worrywart. [He makes no promises.]
